t EduMaKate, we seek to provide guidance and mentorship on career paths that combine a college education (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees) with professional experience. In the past few months EduMaKate has launched an informal mentorship program with the students from the HSAB, Curtis High School, Thurgood Marshall Academy, Bronx Leadership Academy and Benjamin Banneker Academy. We have already made 20 mentor/mentee matches, and hope to expand the program over the next year as our organization grows.
Personal and professional guidance is part and parcel of a successful career. The professionals we have partnered up with from various industries such as healthcare, financial services, and law understand that mentorship was an integral part of their success and they wish to give back. Mentorship experiences include: professional coaching; career development; team building; etiquette and social graces, and philanthropy. We firmly underscore the importance of the Mentor-Mentee experience, and we encourage all of our students to partner with a mentor and build a career rooted in the wisdom of their predecessors. It is our hope that these students will enjoy successful careers and partner with us to create mentees and protégés of their own.
